LIBRARY CLOSURE - May 20-23

Bloomington Library will be CLOSED Monday-Thursday, May 20-23.

The Bookmobile will make its stops during these closures. The Bookmobile schedule is available at bit.ly/bookmobileschedule.

  • Monday’s English Conversation Group will meet at STAR Literacy (201 E. Grove St.)
  • Tuesday’s Fiction Book Club will meet online via Zoom. Visit bit.ly/fiction521 to register for this program and receive the Zoom link.

This closure will allow us to continue to unbox 107,000 books (which were moved to storage when our construction project began) and to shelve 262,000 books. Some collections and areas of the library will not be available until the library reopens on Friday, May 24.

Program Description

STREAM on Zoom

Join us for STREAM on Zoom, as we engage in stories, crafts, and STEAM challenges based on colors and shapes.

During the registration window for this program, registration can be completed online below or by calling 309.590.6155.  As soon as registration is complete, you will receive an email with a link to the online program.

SUPPLIES WILL BE PROVIDED IN ADVANCE.

Register by 12pm on Monday, December 14, to reserve a craft packet which will need to be picked up from Curbside Pickup or our Children’s Services Desk (if the library is open to the public) prior to the start of the program. Packets will be available to only registered participants between 10am on Monday, November 30, and 8:30pm on Monday, December 14.

Supply packs will include:

  • 20 craft sticks
  • 20 craft pom poms (assorted colors)
  • 10 straws
  • 5 craft pipe cleaners
  • 2 sheets of paper
  • 2 coffee filters
  • craft googly eyes
  • craft foam shapes (assorted colors, shapes, sizes)

Participants will need to supply their own set of markers, tape/glue, and scissors. 

This program is suitable for children age 3-11 years. Children under the age of 5 years should be supervised and assisted by a parent and/or guardian during the entire program.
