Program Description

Kal Penn (kalpenn.com) is an actor, writer, producer, and former Associate Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement. Penn was a national co-chair for the Obama/Biden re-election campaign in 2012 and served on the President’s Committee for the Arts and Humanities. He taught courses at the University of Pennsylvania and UCLA.

Penn is known for his starring roles in Designated Survivor, House, the Harold & Kumar franchise, and The Santa Clauses. Earlier this year, Penn wrapped production on the Bloomberg Green climate change docuseries Getting Warmer, and he's been guest host of The Daily Show.

His book is entitled You Can’t Be Serious. It shows how you can make your own life story, describing his rise from a nerdy child of immigrants to Hollywood and then into the national political arena.
