LIBRARY CLOSURE

Bloomington Library will be CLOSED Monday, May 13 through 5pm on Thursday, May 16.

  • The library will be closed ALL DAY from May 13-15.
  • The library will open at 5pm on May 16.

The Bookmobile will make its stops during these closures. Find the Bookmobile schedule at bit.ly/bookmobileschedule.

The closure will allow us to begin to bring back and shelve 3,500 boxes of books which were moved to storage when our construction project began. Additional closures will be necessary and will be announced as details develop. Some collections may not be available until the move is complete.

Catching a Story:
Presentation by Children's Author Janice Harrington

Children in grades K-5 will meet children's author Janice Harrington via Zoom! Known to BPL children's librarian Ms. Alex as her children's librarian growing up at Champaign Public Library, Ms. Harrington is now a creative writing professor at the University of Illinois. Her children’s books have won many awards and citations, including a listing among TIME Magazine’s top 10 children’s books and the Ezra Jack Keats Award from the New York Public Library.
