The closure will allow us to begin to bring back and shelve 3,500 boxes of books which were moved to storage when our construction project began. Additional closures will be necessary and will be announced as details develop. Some collections may not be available until the move is complete.

Now that you've seen a solar eclipse, join author David Baron to discuss his book American Eclipse, a narrative history about a total eclipse that crossed the American frontier in 1878. This event inspired our country’s rise as a scientific power. It’s a tale of the Wild West and Gilded Age, featuring a young Thomas Edison — who traveled to Wyoming for the eclipse — and pioneering Vassar College astronomer Maria Mitchell, who led an all-female eclipse expedition to Denver to show what women could do in science.
Baron will join us virtually to discuss his book and information about eclipses. He is a science writer, eclipse chaser, and volunteer expert with STAR Net's Solar Eclipse Activities for Libraries (SEAL).
