LIBRARY CLOSURE

Bloomington Library will be CLOSED Monday, May 13 through 5pm on Thursday, May 16.

  • The library will be closed ALL DAY from May 13-15.
  • The library will open at 5pm on May 16.

The Bookmobile will make its stops during these closures. Find the Bookmobile schedule at bit.ly/bookmobileschedule.

The closure will allow us to begin to bring back and shelve 3,500 boxes of books which were moved to storage when our construction project began. Additional closures will be necessary and will be announced as details develop. Some collections may not be available until the move is complete.

During open hours, call 309.590.6120 or text 309.446.8398 with questions.

Program Description

Children and grownups of all ages and all abilities are welcome at BPL. To celebrate Autism Acceptance Month, join us for a story time where we'll read picture books featuring autistic characters, learn soothing songs and words of affirmation, and enjoy being together.

When story time ends at 10:30am, all are invited to stay for sensory play and socialization!

Beginning March 23, registration can be completed online below, by calling 309.590.6155, or in person at the Children's Desk at the Library.

On the date of the program, you can use a sensory bag from Kulture City. These bags are available during all the library’s open hours, not just during this program. Please let us know if you have any questions, concerns, or accommodation requests by emailing Ms. Alex at childrensstaff@bloomingtonlibrary.org.
